Lead Pastor: Rev. Steve Williams

Pastor Steve earned his bachelor of music education degree from Webster College and taught music for four years in the North Nodaway School District before answering God’s call to ordained ministry.

Steve attended Saint Paul’s School of Theology in Kansas City, graduating with a master’s of divinity degree. Saint Paul’s is where he met his lovely wife, Rachel.

Since graduating from St. Paul’s, Steve has served the Sheridan, Missouri, United Methodist Church (UMC), Blue Springs First UMC as an Associate Pastor; the Theodosia UMC in Brunswick, Missouri; the Wesley Foundation Campus Ministry (now Truman State University in Kirksville) where he also served as a Part-time Associate at Kirksville First UMC, Valley Park, and Concord Trinity UMC. For the past 10 years Steve served at Grace UMC in Sullivan, Missouri. He joined St. Luke’s in 2015.

Steve and Rachel have three grown sons – John, Colby, and Asher – and a daughter, Sydney. Steve enjoys going to the movies and musical theater, photography, traveling, and meeting new people.

Musical Director: Keith Curington

A sought after clinician, soloist, adjudicator and consultant, Keith J. Curington is director of choral activities at Park Hill High School, a growing and comprehensive choral program in Kansas City, MO. Before arriving in Kansas City, he spent five years as associate director of choral activities at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln where he conducted Concert Choir, All-Collegiate Chorus, Big Red Singers and taught courses in music education. In his position at Nebraska, Keith shared the administrative and programming responsibilities with Director of Choral Activities, Peter A. Eklund. He also served as associate conductor of University Singers, the premier choral ensemble at UNL that performed at Carnegie Hall. Keith earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Nebraska in 2012.

Communications Coordinator: Angela Fleming

Angela and Tim joined St. Luke’s with their sons, Tyler and Reece, in 1997. Angela volunteered as the Team Lead for the Visual Team for seven years before accepting the part-time Communications Coordinator position in October, 2010.

Angela has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s in Business Administration from the Rockhurst University Executive Fellows Program. Angela has 15 years of experience in Communications and Advertising with Western Auto, Sprint, J.P. Morgan and Empower Retirement that she enjoys being able to leverage in the pursuit of communication excellence at St. Luke’s. Her goal as the Communications Coordinator is to support St. Luke’s members while helping to make new disciples of Jesus Christ by consistently and regularly communicating St. Luke’s mission, vision and community outreach opportunities.

Facilities Director: Jim Milburn

Jim graduated from Central Missouri State College with a bachelor’s degree in education, majoring in industrial arts with a minor in driver’s education. He taught for 3 1/2 years until the military invited him to serve. Upon discharge, he moved to Kansas City – joining St. Luke’s in 1975 where he raised two sons, Tim and Kenny. He returned to teaching in 1995, retiring in 2008.

Jim has served as the President of the Men’s Club, United Methodist Youth Ministry Sponsor and Boy Scout Troop Assistant Scoutmaster. Together, he and his wife, Frankie, have five children and twelve grandchildren. His goal is to make the church stand out within the community while making it a pleasant place for members and visitors.

Administrative Assistant: Pam Wishall

Pam Wishall joined the St. Luke’s staff family in 2015 as our Administrative Assistant. She possesses a deep commitment to Christ, a joyful disposition, and a wealth of experience in church administration.
